TIME MANAGEMENT

I always have way more ideas for things that I have time to do them, but I also have a lot of waiting time in my day to day life and I'm trying to learn how to use that better to at least nudge some of these ideas slowly forwards.

This website is one of those ideas.

So is trying to improve my pages on omg.lol and starting to explore Mastodon.

I've been using a gameified app called "Chill With You lo-fi story" for a week now to help manage that time usage better; its proving to be very helpful in getting some things done, I'm using it right now alongside writing this in fact!

MAKING

I got kinda derailed with a bunch of PHP server errors this past few days. Ended up having to move hosts, which got delayed further when Namecheap (where I have my domains) went down for an entire day effectively.

Eventually got moved to hosting at Mythic Beasts, where everything is working beautifully. They've always been a great hosting company for me.

MUSIC

Regularly playing music just for the fun of it has been happening recently, learning songs together with my partner and playing them just because its fun. When we sing together, that's the best of all.

Currently working on Old Brock by The Wilderness Yet. Hoping to do Old Jacky Frost also by The Wilderness Yet next.

READING

As of time of writing I'm on a daily reading streak of 714 days and 149 weekly streak. Apparently I read more than the average.

Current reads are A Honeybee Heart Has Five Openings by Helen Jukes on audio, I've Got A New Complaint by Laurie Notaro on ebook and Heartstopper Vol 6 graphic novel by Alice Oseman.  

WRITING

Writing is happening again for me, which isn't always a given that it will flow. In the past month I've been able to submit two fiction stories, begun writing essay format pieces again and am mulling over ideas for a novel that came to me in the weirdest of ways but might just work. Its a daunting prospect to consider writing something that long when I've only written short form for decades.

OUTDOORS

The rough summer of heatwaves and drought has largely put paid to any garden plans this year, its really just about trying to look after and maintain what is there and keep it going. Looking at you, elder tree.

As long as there's still time and opportunity in the day to sit out in the garden with some tea (still currently loving Twinings Defence tea) then I'm happy.

In wilder places the attempt to maintain some planted trees in weekly visits to water and mulch and clear is ongoing. Hope the lil' guys can make it.

GAMING

I could have sworn I wouldn't be gaming much right now as anything I've tried recently hasn't really stuck. Then this week both Herdlings on Steam and Sky Children Of The Light have really stuck with me and I'm very much enjoying getting immersed in both of them.

Some new demos have dropped that I'm keen to try also.
